What's your approach to being an alpha?

I think the term "alpha" gets thrown around a bit, and we tend to think of it like an alpha is somebody trying to get to the top of the pile. We have this thing where, if I’m on top of the pile, somebody else isn’t, so they’re going to fall down. Only one person can be up there, and basically, the alpha is the one that manages to get on top of everyone else.
The approach that I take to masculinity in general is that an alpha does not operate that way. The alpha should be the one that makes the entire group the strongest. Dominating other people is not the way to do that. The real alpha is the one that actually enables other people, lifts them up from underneath, and makes everybody stronger—men and women around them.
That’s actually going to be the strongest leader that you can have. So, just talking about the word "alpha," that’s my approach to it.
