Ladies,

A lot of us are just not going to pick up on the hints.
Men, we respond very well to direct messages,
and we also respond well, actually, to instructions.

When you tell us what would make you happy,
that's like giving us a cheat code to a video game.
We now know what we're supposed to do.

So, let go of the expectation that we're going to pick up on all of the subtleties.
Obviously, it's amazing when we do,
and some guys are really good at it.
On average, though, it's not fair to expect us to necessarily be at that level of sensitivity in the subtleties of communication.

So, if you're frustrated that a guy isn't picking up on some of the signals:

Be more direct about it.
Be more plain about it.
Be more explicit about it.
You probably heard that advice before, but that's really what it comes down to for us.
We need a little more direct communication in order to figure out what's going on on your end.
